Sketches

In Graphic design 1, part of the assignment given was to draw 20+ thumbnails based off of a word list. Since this was a coastal veterinary hospital, dog and medical related words filled the page. I drew out several thumbnails to find the best idea but finally settled on two concepts from my word list; “Surfboard,” and, “Dog-tag”.

This is the stage of the logo I turned in for Graphic Design 1. I believed this was my final logo at the time. I later re-created it in my senior year for my graduate art show.

First logo stationary

Still using my first logo, I was tasked with creating a stationary for the brand. I purposefully used blue to give the stationary a calm, professional feel. It was meant to show a sense of care and trustworthiness needed when getting news about a loved, furry one. the dog collar on the business card was created to further the concept of the logo as a dog-tag.

Re-creating the logo

As my senior show was approaching, I knew I needed a strong piece to present. I enjoyed making the logo for Coastal Sunrise but knew it needed a little help to be senior level. I dusted off the old logo from the archives and went to work. I didn’t create many thumbnails because I knew the concept I was going for. With a bit of sweat and a whole lot of over thinking I finished the new design.

Project Assets

I wanted to create an eye catching billboard with the logo color and brand voice represented. The goal was to present a relaxed yet professional experience. This would give the customers a sense of a comfortable environment where they can trust they are getting the best medical treatment for their pets.
